Standard Cochins
Cochins are an extremely laid-back, docile, and friendly breed of Chicken. They are best known for their heavy leg feathering, making it look like their wearing fluffy pants. The hens are known to go broody frequently and are excellent mothers.
Cochins are slow maturing and often will not lay until the year after they hatch. They also do not finish filling out until they are a year and a half old or more. Talk about slow growers...... Although these chickens can become very large, they typically lay small eggs. Eggs will be tan in color.
As with all breedings of Blue, Black and Splash you will hatch out all three colors. Blue and Black being the most common of colored chicks.
(update) Had to Start over with my standard cochins because of the move. I kept a Young Quad .
